Funeral of Frank Brown

FUNERAL OF MR FRANK BROWN
Killed in motor-cycle accident

Mr. Frank Brown,twenty-year-old elder son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Brown, Manor Lane, Harlaston, died at Birmingham Accident Hospital on Thursday of last week following injuries received in a motor-cycle accident.
An inquest at Birmingham on Friday was opened by the City Coroner and after evidence of identification had been given was adjourned provisionally until July 4.
Mr. Brown was a man of many varied interests, a keen churchman, a former member of the First Harlaston Boy Scouts and a member of the Harlaston Youth Club. He will be sadly missed by all members of the community.
The funeral took place at St. Matthew’s Church on Monday. A large congregation was present.
Mr. J. Rock (a relative and organist of Norton Canes Parish Church) was the organist. During the service, conducted by the Rector, the Rev. J. R. Bennion, the congregation sang Psalm 39 and the hymns “Ye servants of the Lord” and “Lead us Heavenly Father, lead us.”

Brown, Mr. and Mrs. J. Rock, Mrs. D. Hewitt, Mrs. W. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Smith (uncles and aunts), Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Richardson.
Also in church were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Wanner, Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Mercer, Mrs. North, Mrs. W. Hickson and Mr. G. Hickson, Mr. P. Hill, Mrs. E. Tiso, Mr. D. Latham, Miss V.A. Winter, Mr. and Mrs. Penlington, Mrs. Cox and Mr. Dicken, Mr. and Mrs. P. Hancock, Mr. Taft, Mrs. Day, Mr. and Mrs. E. Fox, Mrs. L. C. Mercer, Miss M. Taft, Nurse Keogh, Nurse Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkland, Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Wallis, Mrs. J.H.Smith, Mrs. and Miss Ensor, Mr. and Mrs. Dyte, Mr. E. Newbold, Mr. and Mrs. Plested, Mr. and Mrs. Foreman, Mr. Sabins, Mr. F. Borrowdale, Mr. R. Drew, Mr. A.M.Riddell and Mr. F. Shelton, Harold, Mary and Stanley Richardson.
Bearers were members and friends of the Harlaston Youth Club- Mr. R.Wallis, Mr. M. Rayner, Mr. E. Tiso and Mr. R. Dukes. Funeral arrangements were carried out by the Tamworth Industrial Co-operative Society Limited.
